How to Drink Two Pencils Gin

How to Drink Two Pencils Gin
August 3, 2019 Gin Lane

When they set out to create Two Pencils, Luke was after a simple, down to earth gin. While they experimented with a number of other botanicals in the mix, they decided in the end to go with just the juniper and let it be the absolute hero.

We, as you may imagine, applaud this decision. The gin is lovely on the nose, with soft, balanced piney juniper notes.

When you taste it, the gin again has a really well balanced, smooth and creamy mouthfeel. The juniper lingers in a pleasant way and will be very approachable to new and seasoned gin drinkers alike.

You will have received Granddad Jacks serve suggestion in your delivery, but we have a couple of additional suggestions for you.

In addition to the suggested cucumber, we suggest you give Capi’s native tonic a crack. As a traditional juniper forward gin, if you prefer a citrus garnish, our recommendation is lime.
If you’re looking for a cocktail to include Two Pencils in, we recommend a favourite from the bar at the distillery, enjoy!

Clover Club Cocktail Suggestion

50ml Two Pencils gin
10ml lemon juice
5ml grenadine (or raspberry syrup)
10ml Sweet Vermouth
Handful of fresh raspberries
1 egg white (or 2 tablespoons of aquafaba)
Raspberry to garnish

“Dry shake” all ingredients in a shaker for about 30 seconds.

Add half a cup of ice, then shake again until cold.

Fine strain into a chilled coupe glass and garnish with a raspberry.
